Hello again

Wow, has it already been over a month since I last blogged? I have been so busy.

In the last month, my parents left me and went to someplace called Turkey. I stayed with some nice German people and pretended to learn some of their words. Then I came home for 2 days and my mom left to go to California. My dad left to go do some training, so I went over to my friend Christine's house. I had a great time there for the week. Then my dad came home and I hung out with him for the next week. Then I drove with him to meet my mom in Wiesbaden where we hung out for the weekend, and guess who was there?!! My best friend TIGGER!! We all came back on Sunday and just when I thought my life was going to get back to normal, my friend Marley came over. She keeps telling me that her mom is coming back to pick her up this weekend, but I keep insisting that I could swear she's not coming for another month. It's fun to mess with her.

Anyways, my mom is super happy today. Something about DSL finally working after 3 months of dealing with Deutsche Telekom. She tells me that this will make it easier and faster for me to blog and post pictures. I didn't want to tell her before and make her feel bad, but it used to take SOOOO long to post pictures here. I am going to try out this DSL thing now and post an old picture of me and Tigger.

Well, that wasn't all that fast, but my mom explained to me that we only have DSL light. I guess you can't get the super high speed stuff when you live in a teeny village of only 400 people. However, it is better than dial up! By the way, that cat in the picture is Tigger's sister Calypso. He is like no cat I have ever met before because he actually lets me play with him. I love it!!

Below are more pictures of the magical time that I got to share my bed with both Tigger and Calypso.

My organized toys

Today I heard my mom talking to my Aunt Amber on the phone. She was saying something about organizing cabinets and blogging. That got me thinking that #1. I should write in my blog today and #2. I should organize my toys. (I don't have any cabinets to organize, but I think it sometimes it gives me a good feeling when my toys are all in once place). I had to make 2 piles since some of my toys are upstairs and some are downstairs.

Also, I had a super exciting day last week. My dad came home from work loaded down with packages. One package had some boring bracelet thing for my mom, but the other 2 were great! In one package, there were some more boring things for my parents, but there was a big bag of treats for me! My grandparents are really nice to me. They are the ones who sent me those treats. They always try to send me treats or a new toy to play with. The other box had a brand new red collar for me, a new frisbee for me, and a new rawhide bone, just like the ones mom and dad used to get for me at Costco. All of those were from PetSmart. They must really like me too. I have no idea how they knew I needed a new frisbee.

Anyways, I have been proudly wearing my pretty new collar all week, and I carry my new bone everywhere. I really don't like to let it out of my sight.

I hear that my other grandparents are coming to visit me tomorrow. I think I will try and show them how to play with my new frisbee. I showed my Uncle Ed last weekend and he caught on really well. I think I will have a fun week.

The baths

Last weekend, my parents took me to a place called Baden-Baden. I was pretty apprehensive about it because that translates into bath-bath. Fortunately they didn't force me to take any baths there. They went and spent several hours at a bath, while I stayed back at the hotel and made a few friends. I am a little worried about my parents...I mean, who would actually spend money to go and take a bath, and choose to spend 3 hours bathing! Plus, to tell you the truth, I personally don't think they looked or smelled much cleaner when they got back. Anyways, I got lots of walks around the town, which I must say was really pretty and fun. I even met a little kid at a restaurant who went and bought me some treats. On our way out of town, I decided to stop at a creek and try out the water and see what this "magical" mineral water was really like. It must do something, because as you can see in the pictures, this is the farthest I have ever intentionally gone in to the water, and it really wasn't all that bad.

Ahhh, the sun!

I don't know if I have mentioned this or not, but I LOVE the sun! Every sunny day when my mom comes home, I do my obligatory greetings. Once that's all over, I race to the back door and ring my handy bell to let my mom know I "have" to go outside. I prance out there pretending like I am going to pee and then find the nice big patch of sun and lie down as fast as I can. If my mom then tries to get me to come back inside, I pretend like I am asleep or I just don't hear her. Hee, hee. Yesterday was a pretty sad day for me. My mom had made some cookies with peanut butter in them, so when she and my dad left for work, I searched all over the counter for them and in the trash just to check and make sure they tasted okay. Well, they must have hid those cookies pretty well, and all I found was an empty coffee beans bag in the trash and some yucky spicy cashews on the counter. I worked really hard at getting that bag of cashews open. It took lots of tearing away of plastic, and once I finally got to the nuts, I had a couple tastes and they were so spicy and bad that I figured it wasn't worth it to finish those off. Then just out of spite I didn't clean up after myself. My mom was pretty upset with me when she came home and saw the mess I had left for her. It took her LONG time to let me go lay outside in the sun...and to top it all off, she found those cookies and ate 2 of them right in front of me!! Well, today is a much better day. I didn't make my mom mad at me and have now spent almost a full hour and a half outside tanning myself. I'm so happy!!!

Waiting...

Yesterday my mom told me that my dad was coming home from work. Usually when she tells me this, I only have time to wag my tail like crazy, turn in a couple of circles, go and grab my nearest toy, run down and up the stairs, and then he comes in the front door. Well yesterday my mom must have been a little crazy because when she told me that, I did my routine a couple of times...maybe even three times and still nobody showed up. So I sat down and pouted for a bit while I thought about what I could do next. Then I had an idea, I could go look out the window to see his car drive down the street and park in the driveway. I only had to do that twice, and he appeared! Then I had to frantically do my routine once more before I could go greet him. Now he's back home and all is well.

Ah hah!

Well, I did some sleuthing and found these pictures. It looks like their weekend was pretty crappy after all!

My weekend

My parents took me to the kennel again this weekend. It was great! I made friends with another boxer who was very sad and lonely. I helped comfort him by cuddling with him and I also constantly nagged him to play. I'm really good at that. When my mom came to pick me up I was a little sad to leave him, but then when I realized we were going in another car ride in my new car toy, I got really excited again. Hopefully he won't be too sad without me. When I got home, our house was really cold, and my mom kept telling me how smelly I was. She ripped the covers off of my bed and washed them and then made me take a BATH!! Ugghhh! I hate baths, especially when it is really cold and it's nighttime. At least I got my treat afterwards. Then I found a nice warm radiator and curled up next to it to warm back up.

The next day, I caught my mom looking at pictures on the computer from.......this weekend!! Guess where they went??? They went to the snow and didn't even take me with them! Even worse, it was in Switzerland. I've been to Switzerland before and love it there. I'm starting to think my weekend wasn't so great after all. They got to play in the snow and when they got home, they weren't forced into the bath and they didn't get the sheets ripped off of their bed. Maybe I will have to be a little more diligent next time I see them packing their suitcases. I'm sure I can find a way to sneak into one of them.

Snow update

The snow came....and went. I sat at home all day yesterday watching it snow. I kept hoping my mom would come home and make some snowballs for me. Then it started raining and all the new snow started to melt. I felt so sad and hopeless because I couldn't do anything to stop it. If I had been outside, I would have found a tarp to drape over the backyard to save the snow, but I couldn't figure out how to get out there. There was like 3 inches at one point! By the time mom got home, most of the snow was gone. She tried to make a few snowballs to throw for me. I played along and I chased them because I knew she felt bad for me. She told me she tried hard to come home in the middle of the storm, but the roads just weren't safe so they didn't let anybody go home from her work. Deep down, I was disappointed, though.

My new toy

My parents are always bringing me home new toys or treats. I always have to check their bags just in case they forgot to give me a new toy. Sometimes when they leave, I even have to check the trash just in case they accidentally threw something fun away. The other day, they brought home a big new shiny toy for me. It is sitting in the garage. I have sniffed it and tried to figure out what I am supposed to do with it, but I can't figure it out. My mom and dad keep going out and sitting in it and playing around with things in it, but they won't even let me get in. I'm not sure I like my new toy. Maybe once they let me climb in and play around in it, I will understand it better.

I Want Snow!

Since everybody else around here seems to be complaining about the weather here, I'm going to weigh in as well. Please note that these pictures are from last winter when we actually had snow.

First of all, it is now January and we still haven't had any snow. Second, instead of snow we have had like 11 straight days of rain. I hate the rain. It is so gross to walk around in. Yesterday I really had to pee, so I kept making my dad open the door so I could go check and see if it had stopped raining. I checked like 5 times, but it wouldn't stop and I really couldn't hold it any longer, so I took the plunge and went all the way out, peed, and hurried back in. I was totally soaked and therefore cold. I tried to shake it off, but I was still wet. Yuck! I can't even play outside in the rain because it's way too muddy and the rain always gets in my eyes. The snow is way better because it kind of just bounces off of me and it is fun to walk in. I often like to pounce in it when it is really deep. I can also talk my mom and dad into making snowballs for me. Sometimes I like to just eat them out of their hands, but what I like best is when they throw them for me. I can chase after them and then when I find the snowballs, I eat them. How cool is that! I can't eat my tennis balls after I chase them. Finally, since it has been raining so much it is gray all the time here. I don't even know if I can remember what the sun looks like, but I do know that when it shines into my house, I LOVE laying in it and letting it warm my belly. Fortunately my mom and dad put my bed next to a radiator when they leave, so I can snuggle up next to that when I get cold. If anybody knows how I can get some snow to come my way, would you please let me or my parents know??

Here is a picture of me. This was taken at my old house in California when I was 2. I am super excited about this blog thing that my cousin Bella and her parents set up for me, so check back because I will be adding lots of pictures.

My Mom

My mom, Katie, is the one in the center.
